A Sycamore woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash at 3:39 p.m. Monday on Route 21 at Murtha Drive across from Greene County Airport in Franklin Township.

Saundra Kay Hanko, 65, of Sycamore, was pronounced dead at the scene by county coroner Gregory P. Rohanna.

State police said a crane truck traveling east on Route 21 collided with a sport utility vehicle as it entered the intersection from Murtha Drive.

Kenneth E. Bittinger III, 37, of Labelle, the driver of the crane truck owned by Anthony Crane, was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., for injuries of an unknown severity. No additional details on the crash were available.

Traffic traveling east on Route 21 was detoured onto Murtha Drive and Rolling Meadows Road. Traffic heading west was detoured onto the airport entrance road.

Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.

State police are investigating the accident.
