Two injured: Kimberly Yankosky, 39, of Ellsworth, and a 12-year-old Ellsworth boy were slightly injured Friday afternoon when thir pickup truck was hit by a vehicle driven by Kevin Lehman, 36, of Ellsworth, on Wilson Road near Gosai Road, Bentleyville. State police said Yankosky’s truck was stopped for traffic when it was hit from behind. She and a passenger were taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment. Lehman was charged with careless driving.
Apartment entered: Theodore Melenchak of 414 Duquesne Ave. told Canonsburg police Saturday his apartment was entered, but nothing was reported stolen.
Assault charge: Police arrested Jamie Lee Lemon, 45, of 57 Sycamore Street, Muse, for allegedly punching her husband in the face at 7:32 p.m. Sunday. Police said Lemon, who already was on probation, was taken to Washington County jail. She will be charged with domestic abuse and simple assault.
Assault charges: David A. Kalveski, 27, of Belle Vernon, was arrested early Sunday by Donora police on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness stemming from a traffic stop on the Donora-Monessen bridge. Police said Kalveski was a passenger in the car. He got out of the car and reportedly started yelling obscenities at police. He also allegedly kicked one officer in the chest and shoved another. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $7,500 bond.
House burglarized: Jamie Lynn Lancaster of Route 481, Fallowfield, told state police Wednesday her unlocked home was burglarized, but nothing was stolen.
Drug charges: Jesse James Cook, 18, of Oakdale, will be charged by McDonald police with possession of anabolic steroids and narcotics, possession of paraphernalia and a turn signal violation stemming from a traffic stop early Saturday on West Lincoln Avenue. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Assault arrest: Perry Scott Mansberry, 61, of 135 Minton Run Road, Morris, was arrested Friday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of assaulting Lisa Perrell at their home. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Disorderly, resisting charges: Rodney Glass, 34, of Sycamore Lane, Washington, was arrested Sunday by North Franklin police on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after he allegedly was knocking on the vehicle windows of customers at two fast food restaurants on West Chestnut Street, alarming them. When he was told to leave, he reportedly ran away and threatened to kill someone. He then allegedly tried to barge into a room at Day’s Inn and struggled with police. Washington police, who assisted, were involved in incidents with him earlier in the day. He was reportedly begging customers for money at GetGo, East Wylie Avenue, and CoGo’s, Jefferson Avenue. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Trespass, harassment charge: Mason Doyle Smith, 22, of 325 Third St., Washington, will be charged by North Franklin police with disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal trespass after he reportedly entered the property of Burk’s Towing, 5 Baltimore Ave., Saturday when the business was closed. Police said he tried to enter his vehicle, which was impounded by Washington police after he crashed into a Jersey barrier on the ramp from Interstate 70 eastbound at Jefferson Avenue. He then allegedly got into a confrontation with the business owner. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger. City police said charges are pending in the crash after police found suspected marijuana in the vehicle. He also was taken to Washington Hospital for chemical testing.
Charged in stop: Seth E. Hardman, 19, of 337 Crescent Drive, Canton Township, was charged by North Franklin police with possession of marijuana and driving without headlights stemming from a traffic stop Saturday on West Chestnut Street. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
DUI charge: Joshua P. Merigo, 24, of 616 North St., McDonald, faces a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance stemming from a one-vehicle crash about 6:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Christy Road, North Strabane police said.. He was driving west when his vehicle went off the road and hit a tree. Merigo was taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment and drug testing.
Suspicious activity: Police are investigating an incident that happened at 4:30 p.m. Friday on Valleybrook Road. Two men knocked on the door of an elderly couple and said they were from the water company. They said they wanted to come inside the house to cleanse the plumbing because of recent water main breaks. The couple let the men in but kept them in sight. The men left after five minutes and drove away in a white sport utility vehicle. Police are asking residents to demand proper identification from anyone seeking entry to their homes.
Burglary: The front door of Kwik King on Washington Road was shattered shortly before 3 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival, police found cigarettes scattered on the floor and determined an unknown amount of cigarettes was stolen. The incident remains under investigation.
Drug arrest: Richie Bengochea, 26, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested early Sunday by McDonald police stemming from a traffic stop on Robinson Highway. He was a passenger in the vehicle stopped by police for speeding. Police said cocaine was found in a book bag during a search. Bengochea was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis on charges of possession of cocaine and paraphernalia. He was placed in Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Mail stolen: South Strabane police said outgoing mail was stolen from a community mailbox at Northgate Apartments Friday. The mail was Christmas cards being sent out by a resident. The man suspected of taking the cards was white and wore a hooded sweatshirt.
Purse stolen: A 58-year-old Canton Township woman told South Stabane police a small gray purse containing $150 was stolen from her car Sunday while it was parked in the lot at Beau Mart, East Beau Street.
Theft charge: Tracey Lamont Wise, 42, of 109 W. Walnut St., Washington, was charged by Washington police Sunday with felony retail theft for allegedly stealing two hoagies from Shop ‘n Save on West Beau Street. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Fugitive arrest: James Brian Moorhead Jr., 24, of Niles, Ohio, was arrested Sunday by Washington police after they determined he was wanted on a warrant for a charge of receiving stolen property in Trumbull County, Ohio. He was arraigned as a fugitive before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County Jail without bond, pending pending extradition to Ohio.
Two charged: Michael A. Carroll, 38, and Joshua M. David, 30, both of 113 Gibson Ave., Washington, were charged by Washington police with simple assault and disorderly conduct. They are accused of hitting John Swierczak in the face multiple times Dec. 9 and then chasing him and another man from Gibson to North Main Street. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Pipes stolen: Deanna Sebuga of Export told Washington police Friday copper pipes were stolen from a house in the 300 block of Locust Avenue.
Vehicle damaged: Ronald Alan Mounts of 613 Main St., West Brownsville, told state police Dec. 9 the windshield of his vehicle was damaged with a brick.
One injured: David M. Buletza, 50, of California, was injured Dec. 5 when his car went off Route 88 while going southbound, slid into an embankment and rolled over. Buletza, who was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital for treatment, was charged with careless driving.
DUI alleged in crash: Gary Carroll Jr., 20, of Richeyville, will be charged by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive at a safe speed after crashing his pickup truck Sunday night on Laurel Road near Richeyville Road in West Pike Run. Police said he went off the road, hitting a fence and tree. Police said Carroll left the scene after the crash.
