WAYNESBURG – Greene County commissioners accepted two donations from EQT’s Local Giving Program during their Thursday meeting.

EQT made two $1,000 donations, one to the county’s Farmland Preservation program and one for Department of Recreation programming in 2015.

“EQT has a long-standing commitment to making a positive impact on the communities where we live and work, and we value being a good corporate citizen in our operating areas,” said Casey Durdines, EQT community adviser.

“Giving back to Greene County’s Farmland Preservation and Recreation programs are examples of EQT’s commitment to our neighbors, whether it’s supporting economic development or community outreach initiatives.”

After adopting its no-tax increase $19 million general fund budget, the commissioners made numerous appointments to boards and authorities.

Jim Hopkins and Debbie Stephenson were reappointed to the Greene County Fair board of directors and Commissioner Chuck Morris, Melissa Adamson, Joseph Conklin and Mary Shine were appointed to the board of directors of the Greene County Tourist Promotion Agency.

Other appointments included Joe Simatic, Industrial Development Authority board; John Kendralla and Sam Goroncy, planning commission board; Michael Caruso, housing authority board; Melissa Kalsey and Fred Clark, tax abatement board; and Lori Gilbert, Chris Bates and John Menhart, CYS Advisory Board.
