Washington police are investigating whether to press charges against the driver who struck a pedestrian in the city Tuesday night.

Police said Ezekial Jackson, no address, was crossing East Maiden Street when a car driven by William Rodgers struck him near South College Street shortly before 7 p.m.

Jackson was lying on the street, bleeding from the head and unconscious when officers arrived. He was taken to Washington Hospital by ambulance before being transferred to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. His condition was not released.

City police questioned Rodgers, 30, of 469 Third St., Washington, and are continuing to investigate whether he will face charges in the accident.
