Construction closing Pittsburgh Zoo for six weeks

PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium are closing for six weeks for maintenance and construction of a new restaurant.

The facilities will be closed Jan. 5 through Feb. 13. Zoo officials say that’s typically a slow period for attendance.

The zoo says educational programs and private events will continue as scheduled.
