Route 88 reopens after single-vehicle crash

A section of state Route 88 from Trax Farms in Union Township to Brownsville Road Extension reopened after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and downed live wires.

A woman was trapped inside her vehicle after crashing into a utility pole about 7 p.m. at 6312 Route 88 in Union Township, according to a 911 supervisor. The woman suffered a head injury and, after being removed from the vehicle, was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The accident occurred near Library Sportsmen’s Association in Finleyville.

No other vehicles were involved in the wreck. West Penn Power is making repairs.
