CAMERON, W.Va. (AP) – Cameron police said the fatal shooting of a man by a 14-year-old boy appears accidental.

Police chief Michael Younger said the boy told police he thought the gun was unloaded.

Younger told The Intelligencer and Wheeling News-Register the boy shot 19-year-old James Russell Keyser in the forehead Friday.

The investigation is continuing.

The boy wasn’t identified because he is a juvenile.
