A Pittsburgh man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly raping a woman in his car while it was parked off Old Steubenville Pike in Robinson Township last August.

Seyed Paiman Daneshkhan, 36, was arraigned before Senior District Judge Jay Dutton on charges of rape and indecent assault filed by state police at the Pittsburgh station.

The woman told police she and some friends and acquaintances, including the defendant, were dancing at the Latitude 40 nightclub in Robinson Township, Allegheny County, in the early hours of Aug. 28. She accepted a ride from Daneshkhan back to her vehicle, which was parked in Steubenville, Ohio.

While on their way back to Steubenville, Daneshkhan suddenly pulled the vehicle off Routes 22/30 westbound and onto the berm. He allegedly grabbed the back of the woman’s head and kissed her and after a few seconds let her go. He then told her that “this is not a safe place to be stopped.”

Daneshkhan then drove to the McDonald/Midway exit and pulled into to a parking area off Old Steubenville Pike. He again started kissing her, but the woman reportedly told him “no,” police said.

Deneshkhan allegedly climbed over the center console and onto the passenger side and started fondling the woman. Police said she continued to tell him to stop.

After the woman told him she was hot, Daneshkhan got out of the vehicle and the woman followed. Once outside, she told him she wanted to get back to her car. He then allegedly again began kissing her and fondling her.

The two got back into the car because it was raining. He reportedly continued to fondle her, then raped her. She told police that after the assault, he drove her back to her vehicle in Steubenville.

Daneshkhan was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 12.
