A Canonsburg man was charged Friday by a Washington County sheriff’s deputy for allegedly removing items from a borough home that was scheduled for sheriff’s sale.
Reed Marshall Morrow, 30, of 528 McNary St., is charged with defrauding secured creditors and obstructing the administration of law.
On Sept. 27, Morrow was reportedly served with a writ of execution and levy for property at 131 Spence St. As part of the service, Morrow was advised that nothing that was part of the levy was to be removed from the premises without permission of the sheriff or an authorized deputy.
The property was posted in November for a sale that was going to take place Dec. 20. On Dec. 20, sheriff’s Capt. William Forgie and Robert Lonick arrived at the property to post it for a continued sale date in January. Five days later, the deputies discovered the residence was empty and new renters were moving in.
The owner of the property told deputies that Morrow moved out and left no forwarding address. Morrow failed to respond so charges were filed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
