Democrats to confront endorsement in governor race

HERSHEY (AP) – Hundreds of Pennsylvania Democratic Party members are planning to meet to try to decide whether, or which candidate, to endorse in the gubernatorial primary election.
The winter meeting of the state Democratic Party was scheduled for Saturday afternoon at the Hotel Hershey.
Democrats view Gov. Tom Corbett as the nation’s least popular Republican governor and have made him a top target in this year’s election. But first, party members must decide whether to back a candidate in a wide-open field of seven.
The primary election is May 20.
The candidates are state Treasurer Rob McCord, U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz, former Clinton White House adviser Katie McGinty, former state Environmental Protection Secretary John Hanger, York businessman Tom Wolf, Pentecostal minister Max Myers and Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz.
