A Charleroi man was jailed Tuesday after police accused him of making unspecified threats and having a folding knife in his pants pocket at Charleroi Area Junior/Senior High School.
Charleroi Regional police charged David Michael Messinger, 23, of 1205 McKean Ave., with possessing a weapon on school property and disorderly conduct, court records show.
Police said Messinger came to the school about 9:30 a.m. with his girlfriend, and was warned about his conduct before begin told to leave, the affidavit supporting the arrest shows.
Police accused him of using loud obscene language, making threats and refusing “cease and desist” orders, the record indicates.
Police retrieved the knife from Messinger outside of the building after he reached into a pocket, leading the officer to suspect he might have had a gun.
Messinger is in Washington County jail on $35,000 bond set by District Judge Larry Hopkins.
