A Waynesburg woman was found guilty Friday for knowingly cashing a check that was not intended for her.

Kimberly Ann Smith, 50, of 171 W. Locust St., Apt. 30-B, Waynesburg, received the $4,623.83 check in error from the Pennsylvania Livestock Auction, Inc. of Waynesburg, on Nov. 15, 2012. She cashed it four days later at the First National Bank in Waynesburg Borough.

The check was made payable to the Smith Farm at 1293 E. Roy Furman Highway, Carmichaels.

Police charged Smith with theft of property, lost, mislaid or delivered.
