Two ordered to stand trial in separate rape cases

A Washington & Jefferson College student will stand trial on charges he raped a woman at a house on West Chestnut Street in Washington last month.
Marlon Brown of Pittsburgh is accused of having sex with the woman while she drifted in and out of consciousness Jan 8. The woman testified during a preliminary hearing Wednesday in Central Court that she and Brown were drinking with friends. She said she did not remember going to Brown’s room, and only remembers pieces of the alleged incident.
Brown was ordered held for court on charges of rape of an unconscious person and sexual assault by District Judge Joshua Kanalis. He remains free on an unsecured $50,000 bond.
Also in Central Court Wednesday was Harvey Hall, 46, of Washington. Hall is accused of raping a woman in a restroom on the ground floor of the LandAmerica building on West Beau Street in Washington Feb. 4. The woman testified Wednesday that she was “tricked” by Hall. She said he offered her a ride to an area pharmacy, and told her going through the building was a shortcut to the vehicle .He was ordered to stand trial on charges of rape, sexual assault and false imprisonment.
Hall remains in the Washington County jail on a $25,000 bond. A court date has not yet been set.
