Cub Scout Pack 1262 will hold a spaghetti dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, 104 W. South St., Carmichaels. The dinner will include spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children ages 4 to 12. Children 3 and under eat for free. Takeouts are available.

Are you prepared in case of a winter storm? What about flooding, fires or other emergencies? The Red Cross is presenting a program that will include information on these and other safety issues. It will help you prepare your family in case of an emergency. The program is at 5 p.m. Monday at Flenniken Public Library in Carmichaels.

Produce to People, the monthly free food program for income-eligible households, will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Greene County Fairgrounds. A new PassCard system will be initiated. Participants are asked to bring any of the following: utility bill, rent receipt or driver’s license. The information will be entered and a Produce to People PassCard will be issued that should shorten the wait each month. Any questions, call The Salvation Army at 724-852-1479.

Greene County Career & Technology Center has scheduled an open house March 6. Guests are invited to visit the school from 9 to 11a.m., noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Evening visitors can watch the Iron Chef competition. Visit all of the programs and enter a drawing for student-made door prizes. Call 724-627-3106 for more information.

The Waynesburg Central High School Relay for Life team’s annual spring vendor showcase will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 22 at Waynesburg Central Elementary School.

The “Buy Local, Buy Greene” campaign is a local effort to build awareness regarding the importance of supporting locally owned businesses. Studies show that $100 spent at a local business generates $68 in revenue for the local community, versus only $43 in revenue for that same amount spent at chain stores.
