2 hurt after part of building collapses in Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities say two people have been injured after they were hit by falling debris when part of a building collapsed in north Philadelphia.

WPVI-TV reported that part of the two-story building collapsed around 7:45 p.m. in the Logan section of the city and two people who were walking by were hit by debris. The two victims were taken to Einstein Hospital but the extent of their injuries wasn’t known.

Fire officials said no one was inside of the building at the time.

Officials from the city’s Department of Licenses & Inspections and the Philadelphia Electric Co. were called to the scene for assistance.
