PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh’s mayor-elect, Bill Peduto, is moving his inauguration ceremony indoors because of a frigid forecast.

The ceremony is set for 1 p.m. Monday, with a program beginning an hour earlier. The ceremony was to take place outdoors in the portico of the City County Building, but the forecast is for a high temperature in the teens and a low of minus-10 degrees.

Instead, the festivities have been moved to Heinz Hall, the 2,500-seat home of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

A reception at which the public can meet the new mayor will follow at the Wintergarden at PPG Place, a glass-enclosed indoor exhibit space a few blocks away.
