PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh’s mayor-elect, Bill Peduto, is set to be sworn in this afternoon in a ceremony moved indoors because of the weather.

Peduto, a Democrat, spent 12 years on City Council.

Peduto takes office after defeating a Republican candidate who moved abroad for work during the campaign.

He succeeds fellow Democrat Luke Ravenstahl, who did not seek another term.

The 1 p.m. inauguration is now set for Heinz Hall, the home of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

A public reception follows at the Wintergarden at PPG Place, a glass-enclosed indoor exhibit space a few blocks away.
