Peters Township police are investigating retail thefts from two businesses on Washington Road that occurred Saturday. The thefts are similar, but it is unknown if the two are connected, township police said.

In the first, a woman entered Kmart, 4041 Washington Road, at 8:58 a.m., took an empty plastic bag from the checkout area and went to the electronics department, police said. She took several electronic games, placed them in the bag, went to the customer service desk and asked for a return.

She was only able to return two of the games for a gift card, police said. The woman proceeded to leave the store with the remaining games in the bag, valued at $116, and activated the alarm. No one attempted to stop her, police said.

At 3:43 p.m., also Saturday, a woman entered CVS, 3870 Washington Road, carrying an empty plastic CVS basket. She went to the hygiene aisle and filled the basket with various items before going to the register where she told an employee she wanted to return the items, police said. When the employee told the woman she needed a receipt for a return, police said the woman picked up the filled basket and walked out of the store with the items, never paying.
