NEW STANTON, Pa. (AP) — Investigators hope an autopsy sheds light on how a New Jersey trucker died when his rig crashed at a Pennsylvania Turnpike plaza in western Pennsylvania.

The Westmoreland County coroner’s office says 43-year-old Arvind Bains, of Carteret, N.J. was pronounced dead at a hospital about an hour after the crash at the New Stanton service plaza. That happened Tuesday about 12:40 p.m. The plaza is about 78 miles from the Ohio border.

Investigators say the tractor-trailer traveled over a curb in the plaza’s parking lot, before hitting a guide rail and coming to rest over a small embankment.

Wednesday’s autopsy will include a toxicology test, which will take weeks to complete.
