A Washington man already facing charges for allegedly having two bricks of heroin inside a room at a South Strabane Township motel last month is now charged with selling heroin to a confidential informant over the summer.

Dontaey L. Clites, 22, along with Richard Harry Banner, 21, of Pittsburgh, were scheduled for a preliminary hearing Monday before District Judge Robert Redlinger stemming from a Dec. 22 incident.

Shots were reported fired in the 200 block of Pine Street and witnesses saw a man with a gun running to the Motel 6 off North Avenue. State police found the suspected drugs inside the room.

Clites and Banner were ordered held for court on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin. Banner also was charged with a gun violation. The Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force also charged Clites Monday with possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin. He reportedly sold a bundle containing 10 stamp bags to the informant during a July 8 exchange in a Washington alley. He also was ordered held for court on those charges.

Clites also was ordered held for court on a charge of driving under the influence of marijuana stemming from a June 20 traffic stop in Washington.

Clites remains in Washington County jail on $60,000 bond.
