Eight plead guilty in county court

Eight criminal defendants pleaded guilty Wednesday before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman.
They included the following:
Kristin Maria Leigh Mull, 24, of 44 Kaukonen Drive, Coal Center; offenses – theft by unlawful taking, criminal conspiracy to commit theft by unlawful taking, and criminal trespass of an occupied structure. Mull and an accomplice used an unsecured window to gain access to 1030 North 88 Road in Jefferson Township where they stole a 4,500-watt portable generator from Jeremy Adam Popielarcheck valued at $2,100. Mull and her accomplice then sold the generator to Marko Demaske of Jefferson for $150; sentence – 53 days to 23 ½ months with credit for time served consecutive to a sentence in Allegheny County for endangering the welfare of children and use/possession of drug paraphernalia. Mull was ordered to pay $750 in fines, plus fees and court costs and to perform 250 hours of community service. She was remanded to the custody of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department to face charges for two open theft cases in that county.
Robert Lee Wolfe, 34, 3788 W. Roy Furman Highway, Waynesburg; offense – unsworn falsification to authorities. A charge of sale or transfer of firearms was withdrawn. Wolfe was arrested Dec. 26, 2012, in Waynesburg for lying on an Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms form about a prior felony conviction. Wolfe was attempting to purchase a firearm at the Waynesburg Walmart store when he checked the box stating he had no prior felony convictions. He pleaded guilty Feb. 18, 2000, in Washington County to burglary; sentence – one year probation and 75 hours of community service. He was ordered to pay $300 in fines, plus court costs and fees.
Jeremy Ryan Orndoff, 23, 762 Stone Hill Road, Rogersville; offenses – criminal attempt, criminal mischief and possession of drug paraphernalia. Orndoff was arrested Feb. 18 for stealing copper wire from the back of the Shear Expressions Hair Salon in Carmichaels. He was arrested a second time on April 9 when he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia outside of a crucible residence; sentence – 10 days to 11 months in jail with credit for time served. He is ordered to pay $1,000 in fines, plus court costs and fees.
Matthew C. Brown, 31, 405 Stringtown Road, Carmichaels; offense – possession of drug paraphernalia. Brown was arrested Jan. 17 when police responded to a domestic dispute between Brown and his wife at their residence. Brown was found at the kitchen table with a metal spoon containing a solid tan substance, later determined to be heroin residue; sentence – one year probation, 50 hours of community service, $500 in fines, plus court costs and fees.
Devon Rae Garrett, 24, 109 Kelly Lane, Dunbar; offenses – delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance. Garrett was arrested for selling heroin at the AT&T store in Waynesburg while she was employed there. Police, acting on a tip, went to the store April 8 and observed Garrett selling heroin. A search of her purse resulted in police finding several additional stamp bags of heroin; sentence will be determined following a presentence investigation.
Jesse James Tinsley, 29, 115 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg; offense – theft by unlawful taking. Tinsley stole a three-gallon gas can from a garage in Waynesburg owned by Frank Jones. Police said a neighbor of Jones saw Tinsley driving away from the scene; sentence – one year probation, $25 restitution to Jones, $100 in fines, plus court costs and fees.
John Robert Kino Jr., 39, 119 Highland Ave., Rices Landing; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol second offense, driving under the influence of alcohol incapable of safe driving, and two summary traffic violations. Kino was pulled over by state police for an expired registration on his vehicle while traveling south on Route 88 in Jefferson Township. His blood-alcohol content was 0.199 percent; sentence will be determined following a presentence investigation.
Tyler A. Gump, 21, 354 W. High St., Waynesburg; offense – theft by unlawful taking. Police arrested Gump after viewing a surveillance video from the College Town Diner. Diner owner Joe Larkin told police Gump purchased an item totaling $1.09 with $20.10. When Larkin gave him his change, Gump turned around and pocketed a $10 bill. He then told Larkin he had shorted him by $10. The exchange was caught on the video; sentence – 3 days to 6 months in jail with credit for time served, 75 hours of community service, $100 in fines, plus court costs and fees.
