A tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 70 in Bentleyville brought traffic to a halt and left about 300 West Penn Power customers without power Friday afternoon.

The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m., when a tractor-trailer traveling west on I-70 crashed just near the Bentleyville exit ramp.

The truck hit a West Penn Power utility pole, bringing down a distribution line, according to state police in Belle Vernon.

The power company expected to have power restored to customers in Bentleyville and Fallowfield Township by 10 p.m. Friday, a spokesman said.

I-70 was closed for about half an hour, and traffic was still moving slowly after the highway was reopened, said a firefighter for Bentleyville Fire Department.
