Three students recognized at West Greene High School
ROGERSVILLE – West Greene Area Lions Club named three West Greene High School seniors – Austin Eddy, Mattison Evans and Caleb Wilson – as its outstanding students of the month.
Eddy, son of Tom and Trish Eddy, of Waynesburg, is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. He has received the Citizenship Award, Dwight D. Eisenhower Student Ambassador Award and the Presidential Scholar Award.
He was a member of the prom court, Mr. West Greene competition and participates in football, basketball and baseball.
Eddy plans to major in safety management at Slippery Rock University.
Evans, daughter of Chad and Alanna Scott of Nineveh, is treasurer of the National Honor Society, president of the Spanish club and a member of the science club and drama club, performing in the school play last year.
She received a first-place award at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science and an Academic Achievement Award and an Academic Excellence Award through The Challenge Program.
Before transferring to West Greene, Evans was a member of the tennis and swim teams at Westmont Hilltop High School in Johnstown. At West Greene, she has been a member of the basketball and track teams.
Evans plans to study pre-medicine at either the University of Pittsburgh or West Chester University and eventually become a neurologist.
Wilson, son of William and Vicki Wilson of Graysville, is a member of the concert and marching bands, captain of the rifle team and a member of the National Honor Society, drama club and engineering club.
He has received the Academic Athlete Award and the Citizenship Award.
Wilson plans to attend Bethany College and major in communications.
