Hearing on proposed oil and gas regulations to be held Wednesday

The Environmental Quality Board is holding a public hearing Wednesday for the purpose of accepting comments on proposed oil and gas regulations in Washington County.

The hearing will be held at 6 p.m. in the Allen Ballroom of Washington & Jefferson College’s Rossin Campus Center at 60 S. Lincoln St., Washington.

The EQB is a 20-member independent board that adopts all Department of Environmental Protection regulations and considers petitions for changes to regulations.

Anyone wishing to present testimony is asked to call the EQB to reserve a comment time at 717-787-4526.

Individuals who are unable to sign up in advance of the hearing will be given the opportunity to sign up at the hearing.

Individuals will be limited to five minutes of testimony and are asked to bring three written copies of their testimony to submit to the hearing chairman.

If community members are unable to attend the hearing but wish to provide testimony, they can do so at http://www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/RegComments, through written comments with letters addressed to Environmental Quality Board, P.O. Box 8477, Harrisburg, PA 17105 or by email to RegComments@pa.gov.

All public comments must be submitted to the EQB regarding the proposed rule-making by Feb. 12.
