Although the worst of the snow appears to be moving out of the area, the winter weather caused several tractor-trailer accidents on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning.
A section of Interstate 70 west near the Taylorstown exit was closed for about an hour when a tractor-trailer accident jackknifed about 9:30 a.m., state police said. The accident closed both westbound lanes while the tractor-trailer was removed.
State police also responded to two crashes on I-70 in the eastern part of Washington County.
A tractor-trailer traveling east crashed into a concrete barrier shortly after 9 a.m. near the California exit, police said. No injuries were reported and the crash was removed a few hours later.
Another tractor-trailer heading west crashed through a guardrail between the Centerville and Lover exits around noon, police said. It was not know if the driver was injured.
