Club cited: The officers of Slovenian Home Association, 13 Liberty Ave., Burgettstown, were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for continuing to operate after the liquor license expired June 13.

Fire investigation: The state police fire marshal is investigating a fire Wednesday night at apartments owned by John Kosek Jr. at 123 1/2 E. College St. The fire damaged a bathroom. One resident told Canonsburg police that he may have been smoking while sleepwalking.

Escapes injury: Zayure Acell, 424 Westland Road, Mt. Pleasant Township, escaped injury Tuesday morning when his vehicle went off Western Avenue, hit a utility pole and then went into a culvert, Chartiers police said.

Bar cited: The operators of Boondocks Bar and Grill, 416 Pitgas Road, East Bethlehem, were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allowing smoking and failing to post “No Smoking” signs.

Two injured: George J. Wood, 76, of Oakmont, and Harriett I. Dixon, 39, of 213 Belmont Ave., Canonsburg, were injured Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash on McClelland Road at the Interstate 79 northbound ramp. North Strabane police said Wood was going south and attempting to turn onto the highway when he went into Dixon’s lane. Both were taken to Canonsburg Hospital for treatment.

Man arrested: William R. Jones III of Verona was charged with theft Wednesday after he was picked up by Verona police on an arrest warrant obtained by South Fayette police. Jones, 38, was charged with stealing a wallet and gift cards from a vehicle parked at the Sunoco station on Millers Run Road Jan. 16 or 17, township police said. He was arraigned and released. Police said Jones agreed to return the stolen items.

Two charged: Richard Lee Prentice, 50, and Penny F. Spohn, 28, both of 426 Oklahoma St., Marianna, were charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with retail theft and conspiracy. He reportedly pushed a cart full of toys and groceries Jan. 18 into the self-checkout line at Walmart, Trinity Point. She scanned only some of the items. The two reportedly left the store without paying for $392 in groceries and toys. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Razors stolen: William T. Bunnell, 28, of 115 Rose Ave., Washington, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing two razors valued at $329 from Walmart, Trinity Point, Jan. 16. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Mischief charge: Abigail Yarcosky, 18, of 189 Ross Road, Washington, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with criminal mischief. She is accused of scratching the truck of her former boyfriend, Kyle DePretis of Washington, with a key, while it was parked last month at Texas Roadhouse, Strabane Square. She then allegedly bragged about what she had done on Twitter. Police said that $5,800 in damage was done. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District judge Jay Weller.

Vacuum stolen: Cheri Hayes, 41, and Melvin Hayes, 41, both of Follansbee, W.Va., were charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with retail theft for allegedly stealing a vacuum cleaner from Walmart, Trinity Point, Jan. 12. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Two charged: Ashley Burnsworth, 30, of 644 Amity Ridge Road, Washington, and Amanda Cox, 28, of 242 Headley Road, Washington, were charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with retail theft and conspiracy. The two are accused of stealing from Walmart, Trinity Point, more than 40 times over a three-month period. Burnsworth is accused of stealing items valued at $1,442 while Cox reportedly stole items valued at $2,059.

Husband, wife charged: Tonya Herchenroder, 40, and Brad Herchenroder, 28, both of 187 Maple Ave., Washington, were charged Tuesday by South Strabane for allegedly stealing a razor from Walmart, Trinity Point, Jan. 12 and then returning it for a gift card. Police said he reportedly took the razor and she returned it. Both are charged with theft by deception and conspiracy. He is also charged with retail theft. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

Drug charges: Eric DePalma, 30, of Pittsburgh, was charged Tuesday by South Strabane police with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia. DePalma, who was wanted on a mental health commitment warrant, was taken into custody Dec. 19 after allegedly admitting to police that he had used heroin in a rest room at Starbuck’s, Trinity Point. He still had three stamp bags in addition to seven empty bags and a syringe. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.

False statement charge: Frank M. Howard Jr., 65, of 400 Justabout Road, Venetia, was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge David Mark and also waived to court charges of materially false written statement while making a gun purchase and statement under penalty. He is accused of lying on a form while purchasing a handgun and rifle from Ace Sporting Goods, Washington Road, in October 2010.

Bar cited: The operators of Kozy-Nook, Twilight, were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly selling or providing an alcoholic beverage to a 20-year-old Aug. 28.

DUI charge: Trista Lynn Fairchild, 28, of 193 Marra Ave., Canton Township, was charged Thursday by Washington police with driving under the influence of alcohol and not having insurance stemming from an Oct. 5 crash. She is accused of crashing into two vehicles at the intersection of Hallam and Locust avenues. A resident of the area used his vehicle to prevent her from leaving the scene. Her blood alcohol level was 0.08, the level at which intoxication is assumed. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Retail theft charge: Cory Miller, 26, of 1108 Maple Terrace, Washington, was charged Thursday by Washington police with misdemeanor retail theft for allegedly stealing razors from Rite Aid, 1001 Jefferson Ave. Nov. 21. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

Television stolen: Greg Haywood of 1030 Fayette St. told Washington police Wednesday that his Sanyo 32-inch flat screen television was stolen from his home.
