The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday, and a wind chill advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Sunday.

Temperatures will fall Saturday from the 20’s to near zero with a wind chill as low as 22 below zero Saturday night.

Snow accumulation is expected to be 3 to 5 inches through Saturday evening, with the period of most intense snow through Saturday afternoon.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected due to snow covered roads, and strong winds will cause blowing and drifting of snow with visibility reduced below one-quarter mile at times.

Another system will bring light snow to the area Sunday and Sunday night, with minor accumulations possible.

Arctic air will once again settle in over the area early next week. Bitterly cold temperatures and dangerous wind chills are likely.
