PENN HILLS, Pa. (AP) — Police in a major Pittsburgh suburb say an officer has shot a suspect after police were called to a home.

Penn Hills police aren’t releasing details of the shooting because Allegheny County homicide detectives have been called to investigate. That’s routine when a municipal officer is involved in a shooting.

Penn Hills police say only that the shooting occurred after police were called to a home at 6:18 a.m. Monday. Penn Hills police haven’t detailed the nature of the complaint and county police, who still had detectives at the scene, haven’t commented.

It was not immediately clear if the dead suspect had a weapon, or what the person was doing at the time of the shooting.
