The deadline for Greene County agencies to submit applications for grants from the Observer-Reporter’s “No Place To Call Home” fund has been extended to Feb. 27.

The newspaper established charitable funds at the Community Foundation of Greene County and the Washington County Community Foundation as part of a yearlong series on homelessness in the two-county region. More than $23,000 was raised through donations and various fundraisers.

Nonprofit agencies in Greene County that provide services to the homeless or those at risk of becoming homeless are encouraged to apply for funding. Proposals will be reviewed by a committee composed of members of the newspaper series project team. Grant amounts will depend on proposals, with the minimum award being $1,000.

Award recipients will be announced in March.

To submit a proposal to the Community Foundation of Greene County, visit http://cfgcpa.org, then click on “Grants” and “Grant Priorities & Guidelines,” and “No Place To Call Home: Homeless Fund Grant Application.”

All grant applications must be submitted electronically through the website.

The deadline for submitting proposals in Washington County has passed and will not be extended.
