WAYNESBURG – Charges were filed Tuesday by state police against a Greene County couple who are accused of growing marijuana in their home two years ago.

Terry H. Hoyle, 58, and Gloria J. Hoyle, 54, of 785 Lippencott Road, Waynesburg, were each charged with manufacture, delivery or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

State police received a search warrant for the Hoyles’ home on April 11, 2011. During a search of the home the next day, police found 26 marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, marijuana growing equipment and processed marijuana, according to the criminal complaint.

Gloria Hoyle, the only person home at the time of the search, told police she smokes a lot of marijuana and her husband grows it in the basement, the complaint said. She said she didn’t believe her husband sold the marijuana and it was grown for their personal use.

The Hoyles were arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Glenn Bates and released on $25,000 unsecured bond. Their preliminary hearings are scheduled for March 20.
