A Pittsburgh man was ordered to stand trial Wednesday on charges of sexual assault and rape of an unconscious victim stemming from a Dec. 8 incident at home in Peters Township.
Nicolas Ortiz, 19, was initially charged by Peters police with sexual assault but the charge was amended to include rape of an unconscious victim prior to the start of the hearing in Central Court before District Judge David Mark.
The woman reportedly spurned Ortiz’ advances when the two were at a home on Rutledge Drive. She told police that she awoke to find Ortiz having sex with her after she previously told him that she was not interested.
Ortiz remains free on $10,000 bond. He also is to have no contact with the woman.
