Poll: 1 in 4 voters say Corbett deserves 2nd term
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A new poll shows Gov. Tom Corbett’s popularity among voters remains weak as the 2014 gubernatorial campaign heats up.
A Franklin & Marshall College poll released Thursday show only about one in four Pennsylvania voters believe the Republican deserves to be re-elected. Among GOP voters, fewer than half hold that view.
The poll, commissioned by several Pennsylvania newspapers and TV stations, did not compare the eight candidates for the Democratic nomination.
The survey showed more than half of voters oppose the legalization of marijuana, but 81 percent favor changing state laws to allow doctors to prescribe pot for medical purposes.
More than half of the respondents said they support same-sex marriage.
The telephone survey of 580 registered voters carries a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
