The next monthly support group meeting for friends and relatives of those who suffer from substance abuse of any kind will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the basement of the Jefferson Baptist Church, 179 Pine St. in Jefferson. This is a gathering where friends and relatives who are struggling with how to deal with their loved ones’ addictions can share experiences. The Greene Academy of Art is sponsoring a free concert on the lawn on at 7 p.m. Thursday. The concert will feature the Carmichaels American Legion Post 400 Band under the direction of Frank Ricco. The program will feature patriotic music, marches and a few surprises as well. All are welcome to this evening of music and refreshments will be available. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the American Legion Post home on South Street.
