Biden to celebrate Independence Day in Philly

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Vice President Joe Biden will celebrate Independence Day in the nation’s birthplace.

Biden plans to take part in the “Celebration of Freedom” ceremony at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

The annual Fourth of July event includes music, speeches and a reading of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence.

Organizers say Friday’s ceremony will also recognize the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act and the 60th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision ending school segregation.
