Two men were arrested last week by the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at a South Strabane Township home after they allegedly took delivery of what police called five pounds of high-grade marijuana.
Michael A. Indovina, 27, of 2113 Shawnee Drive, South Strabane, and Kevin E. Blackwell, 33, of Forest Hills, were arrested July 2 at Indovina’s home.
State police had the home under surveillance when a trooper saw the two men take possession of a cardboard box containing the suspected drug. The two suspects then carried the box inside the house and opened it.
Blackwell fled from the scene and Indovina was taken into custody. State police ordered Blackwell to stop running but he fled into a wooded area. Once caught, Blackwell refused to place his hands behind his back. After a brief struggle with Cpl. Lou Reda, Blackwell was placed in handcuffs.
Both were arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller. Both are charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and conspiracy. Blackwell is also charged with resisting arrest. They are free on $25,000 unsecured bond.
