Pennsylvania Resource Council will collect hazardous household chemicals Saturday for responsible disposal. California University of Pennsylvania is hosting the collection on the upper campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot outside Adamson Stadium in Roadman Park.

PRC charges $2 per gallon of waste and accepts only cash payments. A certified contractor will recycle, incinerate or deposit collected materials in select landfills.

Approved items for disposal include aerosol cans, automotive fluids, batteries, chemistry sets, compact fluorescent bulbs, gasoline, household cleaners, mercury, paint products, pesticides, photo chemicals and pool chemicals.

Ammunition, appliances, bulk waste, commercial and industrial waste, compressed gas cylinders and propane tanks, drugs and medications, explosives, flares, fluorescent tubes, medical waste and needles, smoke detectors and tires will not be accepted.

To receive a comprehensive list of acceptable items, visit Cal U.’s website at www.calu.edu.
