Multiple people receive ARD in Greene

WAYNESBURG – Several people recently appeaed before Greene County Court of Common Pleas Judge Farley Toothman.

Adam John Peachey, 23, of 134 Woodland Circle, Reedsville, charged with three counts of the unlawful killing or taking of big game. A game commission officer said Peachey killed three doe at Brown Road and Route 188 in Morgan Township Dec. 12 without a license to do so.

Several criminal defendants were admitted to the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program.

Those accepted into the program must serve at least one year of probation and pay all fines and costs.

Defendants who enter the program charged with driving under the influence of alcohol also may have their driving privileges suspended and be required to refrain from the use or possession of alcohol.

Those who successfully complete the program can petition the court to have their criminal records expunged.

Admitted were:

Joseph Karl Gantle, Jr., 47, of 137 A Street, Clarksville, charged with DUI, DUI incapable of safe driving, and five summary traffic violations. Gantle was stopped in the middle of Pit Gas Road in Jefferson Township on Sept. 15 using a cellphone. Police found him to be driving on a suspended license. His blood-alcohol content was 0.170 percent. Gantle received a 60-day driver’s license suspension.

Jeffrey Lynn Roberts, 56, 674 Washington Road, Prosperity, charged with DUI, DUI incapable of safe driving, and three summary traffic violations. Police stopped Roberts at Bill George Drive and Route 188 in Franklin Township after he ran a stop sign. Robert’s BAC was 0.118 percent. He received a 30-day driver’s license suspension.

Nathan Zachery Rizor, 23, of 1326 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, charged with DUI, DUI incapable of safe driving, and two summary traffic violations. Rizor’s vehicle hit a tree on Pollocks Mill Road in Jefferson Township Feb. 2. His BAC was 0.208 percent. He received a 60-day driver’s license suspension.

Randy Lee Halfhill, 54, of 226 North 7th St., Connellsville, charged with DUI controlled substance, DUI after imbibing alcohol or a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and a summary traffic violation. Halfhill was pulled over during a routine motor carrier enforcement detail along Route 88 in Greensboro. His 2000 Freightliner truck did not have a Pennsylvania weight class sticker. Police said the smell of marijuana emanated from the cab of the truck when Halfhill opened the door and he admitted he had just smoked a joint which he then gave to police.

Richard Stanley Kler, Jr., 53, of 6275 Satterly Lake Road, Mancelona, Mich., charged with DUI, DUI incapable of safe driving, and two summary traffic violations. Kler was pulled over Jan. 11 for breaking the speed limit and weaving on Route 21 in Monongahela Township. His BAC was 0.178 percent. Kler was given a $300 fine in lieu of performing community service.
