Registration still open for ‘WCCF Gives’

Nearly 100 charities already have registered for “WCCF Gives,” a one-day fundraising event, but there is still room for more. Registration for the event, sponsored by Washington County Community Foundation, closes July 31.
During “WCCF Gives,” every donation made to one of the participating charities will be increased by a percentage of a bonus pool. Funding is provided by sponsors and anonymous donors, and the bonus pool is estimated to be $100,000 this year.
The second annual event will kick off at 8 a.m. Sept. 10. During the inaugural event, more than 100 charities received a share of $400,000 in unrestricted grants.
Bonus pool sponsors include Range Resources, Washington Financial Bank, Chapman Corp., Alex Paris Contracting, Observer-Reporter and Washington Auto Mall. Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and Station Capital also are supporters of the event.
