POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. (AP) – A Monongalia County teenager was transferred to a state prison to complete her sentence for the slaying of another teenager.

The Lakin Correctional Center near Point Pleasant said Friday Rachel Shoaf was booked at the Division of Corrections prison. Shoaf turned 18 last month and had been held in a juvenile facility.

Shoaf and 18-year-old co-defendant Shelia Eddy lured 16-year-old Skylar Neese from her home and stabbed her to death in 2012. Neese’s body was discovered in Greene County.

Shoaf pleaded guilty in May 2013 to second-degree murder. Eddy pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in January.

Shoaf was sentenced to 30 years, while Eddy is serving a life term.

Lakin is a maximum security prison. It is the only all-female prison in the state.
