PennDOT announces work schedule

Greene County Maintenance Manager Jerome Simkovic announced the following tentative work plan for the week of Aug. 4. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis.
Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the usage of headlights.
The schedule is as follows:
• Culvert pipe reconstruction is being conducted on Route 1021, Crucible Road (Cumberland Township).
• Major slide repair and ditch cleaning activities are scheduled for Route 18, Browns Creek Road (Morris Township).
• Bridge cleaning is being conducted on Route 18, Waynesburg (Franklin Township) to Golden Oaks (Center Township), Route 21, West Virginia line to Waynesburg, and Route 3001, Ned Ridge Road to Windy Gap Road, (Springhill Township).
• Shoulder cutting and grading activities are scheduled for Route 18, Browns Creek Road (Morris Township) and Route 21, W. Roy E. Furman Highway (Richhill and Center Townships).
• Pavement patching will begin on Route 21, Rutan, Route 21 from Junction Deli to Waynesburg, Route 2010, Newtown area, Route 1023 Carmichaels area and Route 19, High and Greene Streets in Waynesburg. .
• Spray patching is scheduled for Route 19, High and Greene Streets in Waynesburg.
State roads will be reviewed and signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and concerns addressed on various state roads throughout the county.
• The State Correctional Institution of Greene (CPW) will conduct roadside litter pick up operations on Route 3013, Oak Forest Road from intersection with 18/21 south to the West Virginia line. Please drive carefully when encountering this moving operation.
