Two Washington men arrested on drug charges after chase

Two Washington men were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon by Washington police following a brief pursuit both on foot and by vehicle in the Maple Terrace area.

Tracey Lamar Washington, 46, of 426 E. Maiden St., and Sidney S. Sadler, 48, of 128 Maple Terrace, were arrested after police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Sadler on Michigan Avenue. Police say Washington bailed out of the vehicle and Sadler fled onto High Street.

Police said Washington, who had taken off his shirt in an apparent attempt to alter his appearance, was taken into custody on Maple Avenue after a foot pursuit. Police also were able to stop Sadler’s car. Police said both men had suspected heroin when they were taken into custody. Sadler also had about $400, while Washington had $838.

Both men were arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger. Washington is charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and flight to avoid apprehension. Sadler is charged with possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of paraphernalia, fleeing or attempting to elude police and traffic violations. Both men were placed in Washington County Jail on $15,000 bonds.
