WAYNESBURG – Several criminal defendants pleaded guilty this week before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman. They included the following:

Kenneth James Herring, 42, of 302 Locust St., Masontown; offense – prohibited offensive weapons. Herring was arrested on Jan. 9 when police found a sawed off shotgun, reported stolen from the residence of Sharon and Todd Smithley, in his vehicle; sentence – one year probation, consecutive to a sentence in Fayette County, 90 hours of community service and $500 in fines, plus court costs and fees.

Fred Arthur Lowry, 20, of 100 Bliss Ave., Nemacolin; offense – simple assault; Lowry was arrested on March 4 after he struck Matt Conard inside the Nemacolin Post Office, at 1 Pershing Blvd.; Lowry was sentenced Oct. 11, 2013, to 28 days to 12 months incarceration but then violated the terms of his parole. His new sentence is 60 days’ incarceration plus two years of probation to run consecutively, $300 in fines, plus court costs and fees and 75 hours of community service.

Neil Robert Young, 53, of 389 Quiet Dell Road, Aleppo; offense – simple assault; Young was arrested March 27 at the residence he was sharing with his sister, Clara S. Young, who told police her brother broke down the bathroom door and threw her on the floor; sentence – one year probation, $1,133.47 restitution to Southwest Regional Medical Center for Clara Young’s treatment, and $300 in fines plus court costs and fees.

William Andrew Rutan, 27, of 115 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg; offense – simple assault; Rutan was arrested Oct. 10 for assaulting Paul Joseph Martin at the residence of Martin’s girlfriend, Felicia Renee Miller at 13 Grandview Drive, Waynesburg; sentence -10 days to 23 ½ months in jail, 75 hours of community service, fines of $750 plus court costs and fees. Rutan was ordered to stay away from Martin, his parents and any place they reside or work.

Richard Charles Long, 34, of 417 Mount Morris Road, Mount Morris; offense – theft by unlawful taking; Long was arrested Oct. 3 for stealing 15 bales of hay from a barn in Morgan Township; sentence – 2 years’ probation consecutive to a case in Washington County for simple assault, restitution to Campbell of $60, $250 in fines, plus court costs and fees.

Patrick Edward Cosgrove, 31, of 1003 W. George St., Carmichaels; offense – driving under the influence of alcohol second offense; Cosgrove was arrested Aug. 10 at the scene of a one-vehicle accident in Cumberland Township; sentence – 5 years in the county intermediate punishment program with the first 60 days under house arrest with a GPS and alcohol monitoring bracelet. He is permitted to participate in work release during that time, 28 hours of treatment with Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services, 250 hours of community service, $1,525 in fines, plus court costs and fees.

Ricky John Brown, 51, of Austin; offense – driving under the influence of alcohol second offense and four summary violations; Brown was arrested Dec. 8, 2010, in Waynesburg Borough when police stopped him for driving the wrong way on High Street. Brown’s blood-alcohol content was 0.190 percent; sentence – 90 days to 5 years in jail with eligibility to transfer to Potter County, 75 hours community service, $1,860 fines, plus court costs and fees.

Jeremy R. Orndoff, 24, of 130 Sheldon Road, Waynesburg; offense – possession with intent to deliver; Orndoff was arrested Sept. 25 when police took him into custody on a bench warrant and found drugs on his person and inside a backpack he was carrying; sentence – 48 days to 23 ½ months in jail with credit for time served, plus 120 days in jail for the parole violation to be served consecutively, 175 hours of community service, $750 in fines, plus court costs and fees.

Justin Ray McGowan, 27, of 223 Second St., Mather; offense – driving under the influence third offense; McGowan was arrested Jan. 1 with a BAC of 0.209 percent while driving on a suspended license for a previous DUI; sentence -24 months in the State Intermediate Punishment Program, $3,000 in fines, plus court costs and fees.

John Stanley Stone, 65, of 109 Rt. 21 Mobile Home Park, Carmichaels; offense – DUI and one summary traffic violation; Stone was arrested Dec. 26 after police came upon his truck that was partially in the intersection of Greene Valley Road and Route 21 in Cumberland Township. His BAC as 0.149 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, $550 fine, plus court costs and fees.

Romero Darnell Minnie, 34, of 1337 Truax Way, Pittsburgh; offense – DUI incapable of safe driving and two summary traffic violations; Minnie was arrested July 24 after police received a report of someone driving a car along the walking trail in Wana B Park on Ceylon Road after dark; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $425 fine, plus court costs and fees.

Victor Arturo Galvan-Delgado, 39, 210 Cedar Ridge, Waynesburg; offense – DUI and four summary traffic violations; Galvan-Delgado was arrested Oct. 20 after police found him driving erratically near Jensen Hollow Road in Jefferson Township; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $400 fines, plus court costs and fees.

Shawn P. Daniels, 30, of Grant St., Nemacolin; offense – bad check; Daniels was charged with writing a check to Brodak’s Shop n’ Save Dec. 10, 2012; sentence – restitution to Brodak’s in the amount of $284.17, 50 hours of community service, $250 fines, plus court costs and fees.

Stephanie Renee Imler, 26, of 183 Lecrones Lane, Duncansville; offense – DUI controlled substance second offense, and two summary traffic violations; Imler was arrested Aug. 20, 2011, after her vehicle rear-ended another vehicle on Route 79 in Washington Township while she was under the influence of Xanax and Methadone; sentence – 90 days to 5 years in jail concurrent to a sentence she is already serving in Blair County for two cases involving criminal conspiracy and theft by false impression.

Peter Forgen, 56, of 505 E. Greene St., Carmichaels; offenses – DUI second offense, DUI incapable of safe driving, and two summary traffic violations; Forgen told police he swerved to avoid an accident on Oct. 11 when he lost control of his vehicle causing it to roll over in Morris Township. sentence – five years in the Greene County Intermediate Punishment Program with the first year spent wearing a GPS and alcohol monitoring bracelet, 90 hours of community service, $1550 fines, plus court costs and fees.
