A free community dinner will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at Aleppo Brethren Church. The menu will include chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. For more information, call 724-428-5249.

Two authors will be stopping by Flenniken Library this month. On Saturday, Joie and Amanda Flinckenger, the authors of “Clutch the Trucking Cat,” are coming in for an author visit between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. In addition to selling copies of their book, they will provide a snack and materials to make cards for servicemen. Any patrons who are interested in helping out are welcome to bring small, travel-size toiletries that will be sent to the servicemen. On Monday, Carmichaels author Billie Allen will sign her new book, “Broken Wings” from 5 to 7 p.m.

First Christian Church of Waynesburg will hold its vacation Bible school from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 22-27 for children preschool through fifth grade. The theme is “Weird Animals: Where Jesus’ Love is One of a Kind.” For more information, call 724-627-5355.
