BUTLER, Pa. (AP) — A man already serving 75 to 150 years in prison for the 2002 rape of a Pittsburgh college student has been convicted of raping another woman in a neighboring county weeks earlier.

A Butler County jury on Thursday found 47-year-old Ralph Skundrich raped a woman in Cranberry on June 6, 2002 after breaking into her home and threatening to kill her and a young child who was sleeping nearby.

Skundrich is already serving the sentence imposed in April for his conviction in the Pittsburgh attack on July 25, 2002.

Investigators linked Skundrich to both rapes using DNA taken from him when he was imprisoned on unrelated charges. The sample was run through a computerized index of unsolved cases in March 2010.

Butler County Judge William Schaffer delayed sentencing until he can determine whether Skundrich is a sexually violent predator.
