WAYNESBURG – Greene County United Way is again sponsoring the 12th Annual “Stuff the Bus” program, and the agency is seeking support from local businesses, corporations and service groups.

When local students head back to school every year, requests are received for back-to-school supplies. The “Stuff the Bus” program is designed to supplement these supplies for low-income children.

This year, the United Way, with the help from its business partners, will be collecting new school supplies such as backpacks, lunchboxes, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, book covers, notebooks, binders and folders. Boxes can be supplied by request. Monetary donations are always appreciated.

Last year, the “Stuff the Bus” program collected more than 425 backpacks filled with back-to-school supplies. This year, United Way will hold the event at the JC Pavilion at the Lion’s Club Park Aug. 13. Lunch for the children will be provided free as part of the Summer Food Service Program through Central Greene School District.
