Randy Flynn Anderson, 52, of 472 Morford Road, Aleppo, has been charged with homicide in the shooting death early Friday of Terry S. Weyrick, 42, of Cameron, W.Va.

ALEPPO - A charge of criminal homicide was filed early Saturday morning before Greene County Magisterial District Judge Lou Dayich against a Greene County man.

Randy Flynn Anderson, 52, of 472 Morford Road, Aleppo, was taken into custody for the alleged shooting death of Terry S. Weyrick, 42, of Cameron, W.Va., sometime between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Friday.

State police were called to Springhill Township early Friday to investigate a possible homicide. Weyrick’s body was found by a relative in his pickup truck along Morford Road.

Police said Anderson and Weyrick were drinking at Anderson’s residence when an argument ensued and Anderson shot Weyrick in the head.

The New Freeport Volunteer Fire Department kept traffic from entering at both ends of Morford road shortly after noon Friday while forensic officers investigated. Greene County Deputy Coroners Mary Lewis and Bill Lewis examined Weyrick’s body and ordered an autopsy. Greene County District Attorney Marjorie Fox, who was at the scene, did not issue a statement.

Anderson is also charged with possessing a prohibited weapon. The charge is the result of previous felonies on Anderson’s record. He was found guilty in a jury trial April 23, 2007, of burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property. Anderson was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months in prison by then Greene County President Judge Terry H. Grimes. He has an earlier conviction for simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Dayich at 1:30 p.m. July 8. Bail was denied.
