GCCTC students earn gold, silver medals

Greene County Career and Technology Center’s SkillsUSA Career and Technical Student Organization participated in the SkillsUSA District 9 competitions in January, coming away with seven gold medals and one silver.

The event was held at Fayette County’s Career and Technical Institute and Connellsville Area’s Career and Technology Center.

The Greene County students won first place gold medals, except for Sheila Patton, Carmichaels Area High School, who won a silver medal in cosmetology – nail care.

The students will travel with Skills Advisers Judi Easter and Shawn Golden to Hershey in April to compete in the state level competitions.

SkillsUSA is currently raising money so that the medal winners can attend the state level competitive events.
