A Charleroi man has been sentenced in federal court to 21 months in prison for his involvement in a fraud scheme.

Jerome C. Pryor Jr., 27, was accused of using unauthorized credit cards to purchase gifts cards and merchandise in stores across Western Pennsylvania. Pryor, who was sentenced Wednesday, was indicted on conspiracy charges by a federal grand jury last March.

Pryor and his co-defendant, William T. Holiday III, were accused of stealing the identities of several people and applying for new, unauthorized credit cards.

The cards were then used to withdraw large sums of money and buy merchandise in Donora, Munhall, California, Uniontwon, West Mifflin and Monessen. The incidents occurred between July and October 2012.

Holiday also was indicted in March 2013. He is set to be sentenced in April.

The Western Pennsylvania Financial Crimes Task Force handled the investigation.
