Cornerstone Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. today in the log courthouse on Greene Street. Kerry McClure, children’s librarian at Bowlby Public Library, will speak on the history of nursery rhymes – “Who was Humpty Dumpty and Old King Cole?” The public is invited.

The 20th Century Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cornerstone Care, 501 West High St., Waynesburg. The hostess will be Sharon Heath. All members are urged to attend.

A square dance, also line dancing, polkas, cake walks and more, will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Rogersville fire hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $5 per person and $8 per couple. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event benefits the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department auxiliary. For more information, call 724-499-5385.

The Jefferson United Methodist Church will hold a roast pork dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in Jefferson Community Center. There will be a full menu with generous servings. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

A PHEAA informational workshop will be conducted by Jayanne Harr beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Greene County Career and Technology Center. Guidance counselors at Greene County’s five high school are encouraging all 11th- and 12th-grade students and their parents with financial aid questions to attend. The world of post-secondary education and financial aid can be confusing at times, but it helps to be prepared. Call Karen Cosner at 724-627-3106 to reserve a space.
