Zimmerman appointed as new headmaster at Linsly School
Justin J. Zimmerman has been appointed as the 21st headmaster at Linsly School in Wheeling, W.Va., effective July 1.
Zimmerman comes to Linsly from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, where he is currently the dean of student life.
“While we reviewed a talented pool of applicants, and narrowed our search to two fantastic finalists, the search committee is confident with our selection of Mr. Zimmerman as the candidate best suited to lead Linsly’s mission of academic excellence and character development into our next chapter of history,” said Robert Nutting, chairman of the Linsly board of trustees.
Kevin Stevick, chairman of the search committee, pointed to Zimmerman’s breadth of experience in all realms of independent education as the qualities that made him a standout among the candidate finalists. Zimmerman served as a classroom biology and Advanced Placement environmental science teacher, a hockey and lacrosse coach, a dormitory parent, and an administrative staff member with hands-on working knowledge of the admissions, advancement, and dean of student offices.
In his current position at Western Reserve, Zimmerman is a member of the senior administrative team and oversees all aspects of student life on campus, including residential and student leadership programs.
